We had a great time at our first Bulldog National Show! I took Javier, Oakley, and Ballerina Girl. It was a long drive. The dogs were great except for if I needed a little nap, then they decided it was play time.
Ballerina was the first to show on Sunday late evening about 8:30. She was entered in Rally Novice A. She was so tired, and looked at me like I was crazy when I asked her to sit. We did not get a qualifying score. When we returned to our hotel room, Ballerina promptly feel asleep. On Monday she showed much earlier, and overall she did great. Ballerina earned a qualifying score and took 1st in her class. She was awarded two very nice ribbons and a medallion.
Oakley showed in confirmation class for puppy bitches 9-12 months old. Sadly, she never placed but I learned so much on how to improve as a handler. On the bright side, her litter mate, Glammy who is owned, and shown by Betsy Love was awarded RWB for a major in the National, and Bulldog Club of Greater Seattle Speciality shows. Blossoming Bulldog's Javier is the sire of both girls. Javier makes some nice babies.
Javier participated in the first ever Great Ball of Sires. He enjoyed all the love he was given, and hopes to make some more babies in the future.
To all the organizers, breeders, exhibitors, volunteers, and attendees who make the Bulldog Nationals possible, we extend our deepest appreciation. Your dedication to this event, and the Bulldog breed itself is nothing short of remarkable.
As we bid adieu to our first Bulldog Nationals, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the love and joy these Bulldogs bring into our lives. Here's to many more years of celebrating these wrinkled wonders and the amazing community that surrounds them. 🐶❤️🏆
