Your Bulldog's Health and the

Breed Depends On It!

Working Toward A Brighter Future

We believe in preservation breeding.

We have extensive health testing for the dogs in our breeding program and do not breed dogs with health issues, genetic defects, exotic colors, or undesirable behavior and temperament issues.

Caring about the lineage of your Bulldog and choosing a dog from a breeder who is an active member of the Bulldog Club of America, breeds to BCA standards, and health tests helps ensure that you will bring home a healthy puppy. Reputable Bulldog breeders are breeding for the betterment of the breed, not to make a profit by selling as many puppies as possible. Where does your puppy get its looks, temperament and health? Yes, a puppy’s parents do matter, as well as, who is loving and caring for it before it becomes yours!

The Bulldog’s temperament should be kind and courageous. Similarly, a Bulldog’s demeanor should be dignified. This easy-going and relaxed temperament is part of what makes Bulldogs such excellent family dogs. Bulldogs that have been bred by inexperienced or unknowledgeable breeders, on the other hand, may not possess these same positive characteristics. They may be aloof or aggressive. Two characteristics that go against any breed standard.

The same is true of gait and type. Bulldogs have gained an unfair reputation as being unhealthy, and this is largely due to poor breeding practices by breeders who don’t breed to Standard. Bulldogs that come from a quality gene line, however, live full and active lives and lack many of the health issues the public has come to associate with the breed.

Also, the quality of a Bulldog is determined by how close a dog conforms to the Official Standard. Certain coat colors are faults in the Breed Standard. These so-called “rare colors” tend to be all about money. If these breeders disregard the colors in the Standard, they obviously do not follow the other important structure and health guidelines. Please note, you will not see these colors in any Blossoming Bulldogs.

We love to take our dogs to be judged against the Breed Standard at shows, however, there will always be a couple of puppies in a litter that are healthy, but simply lack the characteristics needed to title. These Bulldogs may not be competition worthy, but they’ll make amazing pets because you’ll know they come from good genes and have been raised by knowledgeable professionals who are experts at breeding HEALTHY and HAPPY Bulldogs.

Standard Bulldog Description

Our Vision

Our Bulldogs are our companions, raised in our home. We take our responsibilities very seriously and strive to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all our pets. That’s why the happiest days for us are when one of our animals is adopted by a loving and welcoming family. Our dogs are AKC Registered, have champion bloodlines, and are evaluated routinely by our local veterinarian.

Our Mission at Blossoming Bulldogs is to have a positive impact on the improvement and longevity of the Bulldog breed. We breed beautiful dogs that are sound in both health and temperament using the BCA Standard as our Guide. You will not find ‘exotic colors’ at our kennel. We love our Bulldogs. When we are not showing, we are playing.
